Dominic Vs. Rex. These two seem to have been at war (a cute war) since they first met. Today I was working on getting a profile shot of Dominic that I can turn into a silhouette that Heidi has been asking for. She was helping keep him facing the right direction using Rex as bait. It worked for a minute, then all of a sudden Dominic decided it was time to battle. As you can see, Rex was terrified.
Had fun taking some spring pictures of my boys this afteroon. Who am I kidding? It was crazy stressful. What 2 year old boy in an open field wants to stand still and let you take his picture? Couple that with me and my wife both having our hands full - I was holding a camera and she holding a flash on a monopod with a softbox (more like a sail) blowing in the wind. That said, you really only need a couple of good shots and we walked away with that and let Dino have fun roaming the field. Here is a little sneak peak of some of the photos.
I also created a fun new Lightroom Preset for this shoot. Made my processing time very quick because I had it apply the preset during the import.
My “two-toothed” little boy, Dominic, is almost 8 months old. Where does the time go? He has grown so much in the past week even…and I swear his smile has too. Seriously. He is happy and throwing out smiles left and right. Some are through both his fist in his mouth, but you can see it in his eyes. It is a joy to be able to watch both my boys grow up into bigger boys that will soon become men. Too soon - in my opinion. As I write this, Dominic is looking up at me from the floor with a toy hanging out of his mouth and a big smile wrapping around it. Cheers to a great day!
These photos are from a pre-photo shoot that I decided to have yesterday. Today they are getting dressed up and heading out with me for the planned shoot. We have warm enough weather today.
Speaking of “big boys”, cereal, and Jordan Wheaties boxes - here is the next thing that made daddy proud…

After being gone for the weekend, it was really great to have some quality time with my boys this afternoon. I picked them up from daycare and tried to hold them every moment I could. Dino and I played for a while as Dominic slept and then the three of us sat together while Dino watched an episode of “mElmo.” It was a great day.

It took him a little while to figure out how to push the “go” button all the way in, but once he got it, he had fun.
I just purchased the iSupr8 app and wanted to give it a test. Overall, I like the app. It plays off of the idea that Hipstatic uses for photos and has a small viewfinder as if you were looking through a Super8 camera. I like that I can shoot and quickly and render later. The render (or develop as they call it) takes a while for longer clips, so it isn’t something that is useful for fast turnaround on sending a clip, but most would use a stylized look for that anyway. Overall, I would recommend it
Somebody is showing some early interest in Christmas.
Dominic is 4 months old now…crazy!
